Jenalyn VanSumeren (Weilnhammer), PsyD, HSPP

Dr. VanSumeren earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with a focus on children and adolescents from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She successfully completed her pre-doctoral internship at Youth Opportunity Center, Inc. and her advanced training at University of Chicago’s Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinic. Her past research involvement includes studying the relationship between emotional distress and executive functioning skills in the pediatric population and the cognitive impact of pediatric sleep disturbances. Dr. VanSumeren has also completed specialized training and experience with neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments through a two-year pediatric neuropsychology fellowship at Brain Performance and Psychology Center. Her specialties includes evaluations with referrals for brain-based disorders such as ADHD, learning disorders, concussions and other TBIs, as well as concerns related to mood challenges impacting psychological, social, and academic functioning. With great compassion, motivation, and a positive attitude, she is committed to helping children, adolescents, and their families. In her free time, she loves being with family and friends, reading, going on runs, exploring new places on vacation, and cooking new meals/recipes in the kitchen. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago makes Dr. VanSumeren a Chicago sports fan, but her favorite team is the Chicago Blackhawks.
